Eligibility

Age Limit 18

No Membership Fees Required for students or teachers

Categories

There are three categories: solo, duet and concerto (concerto participants must bring their own accompanist.)

Playing Levels for Every Age

There are 9 different levels:
Introductory,
Elementary 1, 2,
Intermediate 1. 2,
Early advanced 1, 2.
Advanced 1, 2.

Scoring and Prizes

A Participation Certificate is awarded to every performer. Scores for each performance are awarded 1 through 10. Performers who earn 16 points are awarded a special trophy. Points may be carried forward across two consecutive years.

The choice of pieces is totally free and at the discretion of each teacher and student. The following lists aim to show the level of difficulty at each level and are not required pieces. For your guidance we hope it will  help determine which level you should enter.

Primary level/book of traditional method books such as Alfred, Bastien, Thompson etc, Suzuki Twinkle Variations hands alone to The Honey Bee

Elementary 1

The book level 1A of Alfred, other traditional method books Book1 level, easy hand coordination,piece with up to 12 measures.

Elementary 2

Alfred, Bastien, Faber & Faber, Glover, Thompson, Music Tree, Thompson, Music Tree, Level 1B,easy hand coordination with 16 measures length. Suzuki Book 1 after Little Playmates Russian School of Piano Book 2-1 etc...

Intermediate 1

Suzuki Book 2 Kabalevsky Op. 39. Easy pieces of Op. 27, Bartok For Children, and others etc...

Advanced 1

Advanced Repertoire of your choice Beethoven op.49, Bach Suite Movements, Suzuki Book 4

Intermediate 2

Beethoven Sonatine, Easy sonatines Tchaikovsky, Schumann : Album for Young Burgmuller Op.100 Suzuki Book 3 Russian Piano School Book 2-part 2 Bach: Short Preludes

Advanced 2
